Our Story

Grace Kahn, Master Electrician and owner of Village Voltage, has called Vermont home for over a decade. Since coming out as a trans woman in 2018, Grace has been committed to embracing her true identity and encouraging others to do the same. In pursuit of being able to live every day as her authentic self, Grace left her job with a large company in 2020 and began offering her electric expertise as an independent contractor. What started as a few posts on Front Porch Forum and working out of her old Subaru has now grown into a thriving small business with a highly skilled crew and fleet of vehicles. Today, we at Village Voltage are honored to be able to serve our community by working to be the be the most honest, knowledgable, and dependable electricians around. We make it our daily mission to meet our neighbors with respect, celebrate diversity, and uplift marginalized populations in the trades.
